About Lauren

​​Lauren Gorski is a playwright, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles, CA. Her plays have been performed at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, PlayGround (including Best of Festival), PianoFight’s ShortLived series, NYC’s Spark, and Atlantic Theater Company’s NYU2 One Act Play Festival, one of the country’s top training grounds for actors. She is a two-time playwright-in-residence with PlayGround, a national incubator for new playwrights, and has received multiple Audience Choice Awards for her short plays. In 2023, she was a finalist for Red Bull Theater’s Short Play Festival in New York, and her full-length play The Bramford received its premiere presentation in San Francisco, where it was nominated for the Rella Lossy Award. In 2025, The Bramford was produced as a celebrity benefit reading in support of Planned Parenthood at the historic Village Studios featuring an all-star cast of Sophia Bush, Kiersey Clemons, Tracie Thoms, Brett Gelman, Kyle Allen, and J. August Richards.

 

Her fiction and poetry have appeared in apt, Badlands, Jersey Devil Press, Underground Voices, and elsewhere. She holds a Master of Professional Writing from the University of Southern California, with an emphasis in Stage & Screen, where she studied under Syd Field.

Lauren works in film and television, with experience across the production pipeline—from development and physical production to post-production, VFX, and sound. She has worked for Walt Disney Studios, Lucasfilm, ABC, and top production companies.

Beyond writing and filmmaking, Lauren serves on the Editorial Board of Exposition Review, an award-winning multi-genre literary journal, where she has held roles as Stage & Screen Editor, Co-Editor-in-Chief, and Comics & Film Editor. She also serves on the National Board of Directors for Women and Youth Supporting Each Other (WYSE), a nationwide mentorship program that pairs college women with at-risk middle school girls. â€‹
